Squiggle Graphics Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question to ask? We’ve put together a few questions we are commonly asked but if you can’t find the answer below please do get in touch.

Squiggle Graphics – Logo & Brand

Is a logo the same as branding

No a logo is one part of a brand, not the whole thing. Your logo is the visual mark that identifies your business. Your brand is everything customers experience: your colours, fonts, tone of voice, values, and how you make people feel. At Squiggle Graphics, we create logos that are designed as the foundation of a complete brand identity, not just a standalone graphic.

What files will I receive when my logo is complete?

You’ll receive a complete set of logo files, including vector files (AI and EPS) for professional print, high-resolution PNG files with
transparent backgrounds for digital use, print-ready PDFs, and web-optimised JPEGs.

Will I own my logo once it’s designed?

Yes — full copyright and ownership transfers to you on final payment. You are free to use your logo however you choose: on your website, social media, print materials, signage, merchandise, or anywhere else. Squiggle Graphics retains the right to display the work in our portfolio unless you request otherwise.

How long does logo design take?

A typical logo design project at Squiggle Graphics takes two to three weeks from briefing to final delivery. This allows time for initial concepts, your feedback, revisions, and final file preparation. Quicker turnarounds may be possible — contact us to discuss your deadline.

What do I need to provide to get started on a logo?

To start a logo project, it helps to share your business name, what you do, who your customers are, any colours or styles you like (or want to avoid), and examples
of logos you like. Don’t worry if you’re not sure — we’ll guide you through a simple brief as part of the process.

Can you redesign my existing logo?

Yes. Whether you need a light refresh or a complete rebrand, we can work with what you have or start fresh. A refresh typically keeps the core identity recognisable while modernising the design. A full rebrand replaces the existing mark entirely.

What’s the difference between a logo and a full brand identity package?

A logo is the central visual mark. A full brand identity package builds everything around it: a defined colour palette, typography selection, icon or pattern sets, usage guidelines, and brand assets for print and digital. For businesses that want consistency across all their materials, a full brand identity package is the recommended starting point.

Squiggle Graphics – Website Design

How long does it take to build a website?

A standard small business website takes six to ten weeks from briefing to launch. The timeline depends on how quickly content (text, images, logo) is provided and how many rounds of feedback are involved. We’ll agree a realistic schedule at the start of your project and keep you updated throughout.

What do I need to provide for my website?

To build your website, we’ll need your logo, brand colours and fonts (if you have them), the text for each page, any photos you want to use, and your contact details. If you don’t have professional photography or written content, don’t worry, we can advise on sourcing these — or handle them as part of a wider project.

Will my website work on mobile phones and tablets?

Yes. Every website Squiggle Graphics designs is fully responsive, meaning it adapts automatically to any screen size — mobile, tablet, laptop, or desktop. With
more than half of all web traffic coming from mobile devices, this is a standard part of every build, not an optional extra.

What’s the difference between a custom website and a DIY builder like Wix or Squarespace?

A custom-designed website is built specifically for your business, with your brand, your structure, and your customer journey in mind. DIY builders are quicker and cheaper but use generic templates that limit flexibility, SEO performance, and scalability. A professionally built site typically delivers better search rankings, faster
load times, and a stronger first impression.

Do you offer website hosting?

Yes. Squiggle Graphics offers managed WordPress hosting which includes hosting, security updates, backups, and ongoing technical maintenance. This means
your site is looked after without you needing to worry about the technical side.

Will my website be found on Google?

Every website we build includes basic on-page SEO setup: page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, and clean URL structure and will be submitted to Google. This gives your site a solid foundation for search visibility.

Can you update or redesign my existing website?

Yes. We can take on existing websites for redesigns, content updates, or ongoing maintenance. If you have a site that’s looking dated or not performing well, get in touch and we’ll assess what’s needed.

Squiggle Graphics – Graphic Design Services

What graphic design services does Squiggle Graphics offer?

Squiggle Graphics provides a full range of graphic design services including marketing materials (flyers, brochures, posters, leaflets), social media
graphics, infographics, exhibition banners, stationery, signage, newsletters, and print-ready artwork. We work with businesses across all sectors and can handle everything from a one-off flyer to an ongoing design retainer.

Do you design for print as well as digital?

Yes — and this is one of Squiggle Graphics’ key strengths. We handle design for both print and digital, and can manage the print production too. Files are prepared to professional print standards: correct resolution (300dpi), CMYK colour mode, bleed, and trim marks. You don’t need to brief a designer and a printer separately.

What file formats will I receive for my graphic design work?

Final files are provided in the formats appropriate to your project. Print-ready work is supplied as high-resolution PDFs with crop marks and bleed.
Digital assets are provided as optimised JPEGs, PNGs, or the required format for your platform. Source files (e.g. Adobe Illustrator or InDesign) can also be supplied on request.

Can you create social media graphics that match my brand?

Yes. We design social media graphics sized correctly for each platform (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) using your brand colours, fonts, and
logo. Consistent branded graphics are one of the simplest ways to build recognition and trust with your audience online.

I have a tight graphic design deadline, can you help?

If you have a tight deadline, let us know upfront and we’ll be honest about whether we can accommodate it. A clear, detailed brief at the start of a project always helps us work as quickly as possible.

Squiggle Graphics – Print

What print products does Squiggle Graphics offer?

Squiggle Graphics offers a full design-through-to print service covering business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, flyers, leaflets, brochures, folders,
posters, roller banners, exhibition displays, stickers, and large format print. We manage the entire process from artwork to finished printed product, so you deal with one team rather than a designer and a separate printer.

Do you manage the printing or just the design?

Both. Squiggle Graphics offers a complete design through-to-print service — we handle the artwork, prepare print-ready files to the printer’s specifications,
place the order, and manage quality and delivery. This is a key difference from many design studios that hand over files and leave clients to organise printing themselves.

How long does print take from start to finish?

Timescales vary by product and quantity, but as a general guide: business cards and flyers typically take five to seven working days from artwork approval. Brochures and larger print runs usually take seven to ten working days. Express print options are available for some products. We’ll confirm lead times when quoting.

What file format do you need for print?

If you’re supplying your own artwork, we need print-ready PDFs at 300dpi, in CMYK colour mode, with 3mm bleed on all sides and crop marks included. If you’re not sure how to prepare your files, send us what you have and we’ll advise — or we can create the artwork for you as part of the project.

Do you have a minimum print order?

Minimum quantities depend on the product and print method. We’ll confirm quantities and pricing when we quote for your job.

Working with Squiggle Graphics

Where is Squiggle Graphics based?

Squiggle Graphics is based in Hambridge, Somerset — between Ilminster and Taunton. We’re a team of three working across Somerset and the South West, and we also work with clients across the UK remotely.

Do you work with businesses outside Somerset?

Yes. While we’re based in Somerset and work closely with local businesses across Taunton, Ilminster, Yeovil, Chard, and the surrounding area, we work with
clients throughout the UK. Most projects are managed remotely via email, phone, and video call, so location isn’t a barrier.

What sectors do you specialise in?

Squiggle Graphics works across a wide range of sectors including vets and animal care businesses, schools and education, hospitality, health and wellbeing, trades and construction, renewable energy, travel, and small business startups. We’ve built up specific knowledge of the design and communication needs in each of these areas.

Who will be working on my project?

Squiggle Graphics is a close-knit team of three. You’ll deal directly with the people doing the work — we don’t outsource our design work. This is one of the key benefits of working with a small studio: you get personal attention from start to finish.

How does the design process work?

We start with a briefing conversation to understand your business, your audience, and what you need. We then develop initial concepts for your feedback, refine the chosen direction, and prepare final files once you’re happy. For most projects, the process involves two to three rounds of revisions. We keep communication clear and straightforward throughout.

How do I get a quote?

The easiest way to get a quote is to call us on 07985 275 981 or email hello@squigglegraphics.net with a brief description of your project. We’ll usually come back to you within one working day. For print work, it helps to know the product, quantity, and whether you need design as well.

Do I need to come in for meetings?

Not necessarily. Many projects are handled entirely remotely via email and phone, which works well for clients outside the local area. For larger or more complex projects — particularly full brand identities or website builds — an initial meeting (in person or video call) can be helpful to get the brief right from the start.

How much do I pay upfront?

We typically ask for a 50% deposit before work begins, with the remaining balance due on completion and delivery of final files. For print jobs, full payment is usually required upfront before we place orders with our print suppliers.

What happens if I’m not happy with the initial designs?

Each project includes a set number of revision rounds (confirmed in your quote). If the initial concepts aren’t quite right, we’ll listen to your feedback and
revise accordingly. We’ve found that good briefing at the start of a project usually means the first concepts land much closer to the mark.
